Pool Temperature Android App

I got all inspired after the AWS Summit this week just gone.  I’ve updated my pool temperature setup such that the current temperature is now dumped into an AWS SimpleDB and have written a basic Android App that will read and display the temperature.

The next step will be to add a widget, but for now this does the trick nicely.

Download the app here if you want to take a look, of course it’s not going to be that useful to that many people – which is why I haven’t put it into the Play Store.

ps. Australia is heading into winter, thus the chill.

LCA2012

If you found your way here because of one of these (or perhaps from an LCA2012 search):

Thanks for making LCA2012 awesome and for being excellent to each other and to me. As someone raised in Ballarat and recently returned to Ballarat it’s great to see such awesome conferences and geeks here.

At the moment I exclusively post to Google+, I’m no longer a fan of the shotgun approach of updating every single social network I’m on.  Twitter is too mainstream and restrictive, Facebook is too creepy, WordPress is too much work–so Google+ it is (for now).
